Nestled in the heart of the village, The Diggers Rest is a historic 500-year-old establishment that has served locals and visitors alike for centuries.
We offer a traditional warm & welcoming bar area for both regulars & visitors alike, to enjoy a friendly, sociable drink in great company. 2026 also introduces our brand new restaurant, Beehive. Situated away from the busy bar, this offers a refined, yet informal dining space where you can enjoy what we firmly believe to be the best food in the area.

Bar & Lounge
As soon as you step through our doors, you are welcomed into a time gone by regarding pubs. Not a pool table, fruit machine or jukebox in sight, simply a warm, comfortable, friendly space to sit back and enjoy a drink or two with friends and family.
We have a fantastic range of beers, wines & spirits to suit all tastes and are a proud member of the cask marque accreditation scheme for our real ales, so you’re always guaranteed of a great pint.
Oh, did I forget to mention that we’re also very dog friendly. With a fully stocked jar of treats on the bar, there will always be a happy, willing member of the team ready to make a fuss of your four legged friend.
Beehive Restaurant
Our beautiful, brand new restaurant, Beehive is set to become the destination venue within the area. Tastefully furnished and decorated, with a beehive theme, we offer what we fully believe to be the finest food, and pride ourselves on using fresh, locally sourced high quality ingredients, all served in the most welcoming setting.
Tucked away at the rear of the pub, Beehive really is the perfect place to enjoy a fine, freshly cooked & prepared meal. Whether you’re looking for an intimate table for two, or you are celebrating with friends and family alike, Beehive really is the restaurant of choice for the discerning diner. With the warmer weather, we will also be offering private dining within our three pods out in the garden.
Serving a refined, seasonally based menu along with a fantastic selection of traditional pub classics, our diners really are treated to a little slice of luxury and indulgence.
The Garden & Pods
Nestled in the heart of our beautiful village, our sunny pub courtyard terrace stands as a sanctuary where both locals and visitors can escape the hectic pace of daily life and enjoy great company whilst sharing a drink or two.
Beautifully lit with twinkling festoon lighting, our garden is the perfect little hideaway for the evening. Add to that, the three quaint and charming dining pods, aptly named Honey, Bumble & Queenie, you can enjoy a fantastic al fresco meal in the fresh air, even when our summer takes a day off.
